About Fr. Hater

Professor of theology, pastor, presenter, mentor and friend to many, Father Robert J. Hater, a Cincinnati diocesan priest, is a Professor of Theology at the Athenaeum of Ohio (Cincinnati) and Professor Emeritus at the University of Dayton.

He is a storyteller and internationally known writer and lecturer in the fields of catechesis, ministry, evangelization, and spirituality. He has written 21 books and many articles. His latest books include:

  • Common Sense Catechesis: Lessons from the Past; Road Map for the Future
  • The parish guide to the new evangelization : an action plan for sharing the faith
  • Gateways to God : celebrating the sacraments
  • Journeys of discovery : transitions, rites of passage, and the sacramental life of faith

He lives and ministers at St. Clare Parish (Cincinnati).
