If a book is part of a multi-volume work or series, include this information in your citations.
To cite a specific volume that has its own title, list the title for the multi-volume work as a whole first, followed by the specific title. See the Balthasar citation for an example.
In footnotes, put the specific volume number (without vol.), colon, and page number without spaces, e.g., 3:44 means volume 3, page 44.
In the bibliography, abbreviate volume (Vol.) and use arabic numbers for volume numbers.
For ebooks, the citation looks the same except that the URL or equivalent is also provided:

If you pull citation information from online, be sure to verify that it contains the correct information in the correct format, in accordance with our General Rules.
1. This example is from an e-book: https://www-theologyandreligiononline-com.at.opal-libraries.org/encyclopedia?docid=b-9780300271959. The e-book does not have the title page & verso, but you can find them here: https://archive.org/details/romansnewtransla0000unse/page/n7/mode/2up. If you cannot locate the title page & verso for an e-book, you may request a scan from the library.

2. Another e-book to illustrate that platforms can differ! In this example, the publisher makes the entire book available, including the title page and verso. Link to the full text from the MalyPLUS record.
For e-books and e-journal articles, try not to use the URL address in the URL bar. Instead, look for a “permanent URL” or a separate URL provided by the platform. You may also use the platform/database name instead of the URL.

3. According to Turabian style, to cite a specific volume that has its own title (for example, Spouse of the Word), list the title for the multi-volume work as a whole first, then the specific title volume. To make the footnote and bibliography work in that order, within Zotero you will make some counterintuitive moves: place the specific title volume in the Series field and place the title of the multi-volume work as a whole in the Title field.
